Maryland Police Arrest Shy Glizzy, Slam Him Over the Hood of A Cop Car

In Silver Spring, Md., local police arrested D.C. rapper Shy Glizzy yesterday afternoon. A couple dozen witnesses recorded the altercation, in which three officers are seen slamming Glizzy against a cop car after having handcuffed the rapper and emptied his pockets.

Reportedly, Glizzy was detained alongside his girlfriend and is facing several charges, including disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, riot, and resisting arrest. Footage indicates that there were multiple squad cars at the scene. In one of the Instagram videos that captured the arrest, Glizzy can be heard shouting in protest of someone, perhaps an officer, having “put her hands” on him.

Many onlookers could be heard shouting “Fuck twelve!” and “Free Glizzy!” during the arrest, with a few young fans challenging the officers directly as they shoved Glizzy into the back of a squad car.

He was released today on bail.
