Pusha T Talks Mass Incarceration, Politics, and The Legacy of Clipse on Colbert

Pusha T made a late night appearance yesterday on Stephen Colbert but not as a musical guest, instead he wanted to chat about a wide range of social topics, including Clipse’s most famous song “Grindin,” this year’s presidential election and even spoke briefly about an issue close to heart, mass incarceration: “That’s the most important issue to me simply because I feel that’s the most important issue tearing apart our community right now.” The G.O.O.D. Music president also talked about that time he wrote the rap version of the McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle with Justin Timberlake. Elsewhere during their discussion, Pusha also touched on some of the challenges faced by ex-convicts: “You can’t vote. You can’t get grants. It’s like you keep paying forever.
